Join us to stop the expansion of fracking and protect Colorado communities!

Did you know that oil & gas fracking is a major source of toxic air pollution in Colorado? Oil & gas operations pollute frontline communities in Colorado with toxic emissions such as benzene, sulfur dioxide, and formaldehyde. This toxic air pollution can cause serious health effects including neurologic disease, respiratory compromise, reproductive problems, cancer, and more.

A recent study in Colorado found that children with acute lymphocytic leukemia are more than twice as likely to live near dense oil & gas development as those without the leukemia. Another recent study also found childhood asthma and lymphoma associated with proximity to fracking operations. Toxic air pollution from oil & gas operations is a real public health threat harming real Coloradans everyday. We need real action to protect our communities from the relentless expansion of fracking on the Western Slope and into the population centers in the Front Range.

Fort Collins Sustainability Group is proud to be a member of the Safe & Healthy Colorado Coalition, a broad coalition of organizations, allies, and volunteers working together to protect our land, air, water, health and climate by stopping the expansion of oil & gas fracking in Colorado while supporting a just transition to a renewable energy future.

Join us in the movement by signing the Open Letter of Support to phasing out permits for new fracking by 2030. Our health and climate can’t wait!

In solidarity,

Christina
