Speak Up Now: Don’t Frack The Aurora Reservoir Community!

We have one LAST chance to speak up against the 32-well residential fracking plan in SE Aurora! The State of Colorado has not yet approved the permit for the “Sunlight-Long” mega frack pad and our voices can still make a difference.

Take Action Now! – find all 4 of these action items on WhatTheFrack.substack.com

  • The hearing will last 3 days – plan to enter the Zoom all three days (Nov 19-21, 9am-5pm)  to listen to the Commissioner’s deliberations and let them know that the public is watching.  View the Agenda at the ECMC website here.
  • Call or text your elected officials before Nov 19th to urge them to stand with Coloradans and oppose this fracking plan.
    1. Gov. Jared Polis — (303) 866-4075
    2. Sen. John Hickenlooper — (303) 244-1628
    3. Sen. Michael Bennet — (303) 455-7600
    4. Rep. Jason Crow — (720) 748-7514
    5. Mayor Mike Coffman — (303) 739-7015

Suggested Call Script: “Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I’m a constituent from [City/Zip]. I’m calling to express concern about the proposed Sunlight-Long fracking pad near the Aurora Reservoir. This fracking pad threatens public health, air quality, and our limited water supply.

Over 10,000 families and drinking water for 400,000 Coloradans will be at risk if this pad goes through. We need our elected officials to stand with our community and urge the ECMC to stop or relocate this fracking pad in line with Colorado’s SB-181, which prioritizes public health and safety.”

The Colorado Energy & Carbon Management Commission’s job is to protect “public health, safety, and welfare.” Yet as we descend deeper into the climate crisis, the Commission continues to green light massive fossil fuel projects that exacerbate climate catastrophe and poison surrounding communities. Let’s stand up together and demand Governor Polis’s Energy & Carbon Management Commission do their job and deny this reckless plan to frack the Aurora Reservoir and surrounding communities.
