Salon duc Tape: A Community Conversation on Climate Change Adaptation
December 11, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Salon duc Tape – A Community Conversation on Climate Change Adaptation – December 11th, 2020
How can we respond to the impacts of the climate crisis?
This past summer, residents of Fort Collins and the nearby foothills and mountains suffered through the two largest fires in Colorado history, making this a good time to highlight the climate change impacts we’ve seen over the past couple of years, discuss the challenges we might see in the future, and consider what we might do to respond.
At the salon on Friday, December 11th, Janice Lynne, Tom Hoehn, and Rose Lew will lead “A Community Conversation on Climate Change Adaptation.” Janice and Tom are community organizers for Transition Fort Collins (an initiative of the international Transition Town movement) and past members of the Fort Collins Sustainability Group. Their focus has included community resilience and ways to transition from the fossil-based energy economy. Rose is a former EPA environmental scientist and current member of the Fort Collins Sustainability Group Steering Committee. They will offer a short video presentation on the concept of adaptation, followed by a brainstorming session on what we can imagine doing collectively and individually that would help us meet challenges we could be facing in order to adapt.
Salon duc Tape, a public forum sponsored by the Northern Colorado Alliance for a Livable Future (NCALF), meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 7:00 — 9:00 p.m. We have moved to an online format (Zoom) for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.
