Salon duc Tape – Neoliberal Capitalism at a Dead End – October 23rd, 2020
**********
What might come next?

At the salon on Friday, October 23rd, Kevin Cross will address why he thinks that neoliberal capitalism is at a dead end and will lead a discussion of what might come next. His presentation will be based on an eponymous article in ”Monthly Review” (available at https://monthlyreview.org/2019/07/01/neoliberal-capitalism-at-a-dead-end/) by Utsa and Prabhat Patnaik, both professors emeritus at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi.

We will also be viewing the short video, “A Message From the Future II: The Years of Repair” (available at https://theintercept.com/2020/10/01/naomi-klein-message-from-future-covid/). Reading the article and/or watching the video in advance would be helpful, but by no means necessary.

Kevin is a founding member of both the Fort Collins Sustainability Group (FCSG) and the newly-formed Northern Colorado Alliance for a Livable Future (NCALF). He is an energy engineer by day and a long-time activist by night and on weekends.

Salon duc Tape, a public forum sponsored by NCALF, meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 7:00 — 9:00 p.m. We have moved to an online format (Zoom) for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. You will need to register in advance for the salon here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUpfumppz0rG9Dy6wyFo6QkS8NOGR7…. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information – including a new link – about joining the salon.
