Salon duc Tape – Tom Sullivan on Addressing Gun Violence – April 23rd, 2021
**********
What’s in the works at the state level to reduce the threat of gun violence?
Representative Tom Sullivan (HD-37) will be joining us at the salon on April 23rd to discuss gun safety measures currently in place in Colorado and the US, what is in the works this Legislative Session in Colorado, how the politics surrounding gun safety have changed, and what we can do to get involved.
Tom is a US Air Force veteran, retired postal worker, and lifelong union member who began a career in politics after his 27-year-old son, Alex, was murdered in the 2012 Aurora movie theatre shooting. He will discuss how he decided to run for office after none of his elected officials would listen to him after losing his son. Tom now represents the Centennial area in the Colorado State House of Representatives. He is committed to advancing gun safety policy and addressing the gun violence crisis plaguing both Colorado and the entire country. Tom currently resides in Centennial with his wife, Terry, and his mother, Joyce. His daughter, Megan, is an executive at an ad-tech company, and is married to his son-in-law, Matthew.
